I'd like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you for your interest in The Smile Tribe.
The Smile Tribe is a fun and playful manifestation of my life purpose....or perhaps more accurately....my soul's purpose. And, it's a bit of a World Peace Initiative!
It is a movement committed to Connection, Compassion, Collaboration & FUN.
Throughout all of my life, I have had a passion for connecting with other people. The earliest supporting evidence of this involves a note that my 1st grade teacher wrote on my report card. It reads "Leann has a habit of getting out of her chair, floating about the room and engaging the other children, at times when it is completely inappropriate....". Why, thank you Mrs. Ackerman.
Fast forward many, many years and while my awareness of my own impact has matured, my passion for, and commitment to, connection with others remains very strong.
I believe that we are all connected. That we are all one on a soul level. I have also noticed that in many ways, we have turned away from one another in today's society. It is my opinion that this has contributed to some of the many ills in our world today. If you want to see it for yourself, just take a conscious walk down the aisle at your local supermarket, and notice.....how many people are willing to make simple eye contact? It's a saddening few.
It has become obvious that we are facing serious economic and ecologic issues in the world today. What we seem much less aware of is that we are also facing a spiritual breakdown as well. I am not speaking of any specific religion, or of religion at all...but of a basic dis-connect of the soul side of our humanity. I believe that a re-connection is necessary at this time if we are to create a world of peace and harmony. A world of "you AND me". (instead of "you OR me", or "you scare me", or any number of other ways to view the world) A world where we are re-connected to our neighbors, our communities, our countries, our ONE world....where we live deeply steeped in our compassion for one another, and in collaboration around helping one another....and dare I say...while having fun? Now there's a concept!
When we CHOOSE to live from this place, we will live with more love, joy, purpose and peace. We will be able to come together in collaboration and will be better equipped to begin to solve some of the challenges we are currently faced with in this world. Anything becomes possible.
And what I've come to know, and want to share with this movement, is that we can begin to live from this place in a very simple, fun way. We can smile at one another. I believe that when we smile with another it is a soul-level connection. With these connections, we create small yet magical energetic shifts toward compassion in our world. When we come together with that compassion, and in collaboration for the better of another, the positive shifts are magnified exponentially. When we connect with compassion, in collaboration for the better of another.....while having fun.....well, that IS my life purpose, and the very idea which has given birth to The Smile Tribe!
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in this movement. It means the world (quite literally!) to me.....and to all of us!
